Library Membership is extended to External Lecturers and Consultants for a specific purpose e.g. for delivery of a project/programme, completion of a special project, or by the expressed permission of the Executive Director or her representative. The duration of this membership is usually short-term, lasting only until the completion of the project/programme.

Borrowing Privileges

	External members (lecturers and consultants) may borrow or use Books, Journals, and Audio-Visual Material related to the special project/programme in order to assist in developing a programme of high standard. Material not related to the project/programme may not be taken on loan.
	External Lecturers of academic programmes will be usually provided with a lecturer's copy of the prescribed text and any additional instructional material (if available). These instructional aids, along with the prescribed text, must be returned at the end of the programme. Additional related material may be borrowed but these will be usually for a period of one week (if the items are Reserved material) or for three weeks (if from the General collection).
	External Consultants may borrow up to two items at any one time. Special authorisation must be given to increase this number.
	No one is allowed use of the Library in the absence of authorised Library Staff.
	Before any material may be taken out of the Library, the registered Library user must complete a Loan Form for each time borrowed.
	The Library User agrees to take due care of all Library material and will report any damage or loss of same to the Librarian. The Library will view any defacement of Library material as a breach of this agreement e.g. writing in or using a highlighter in library books; tearing or ripping pages.
